Arch Builders Across Nations ....A.B.A.N...is an International group of people from a myriad of backgrounds, cultures, religions and continents.
Most of our members are either graduates of or certified by U.S schools and/or Institutes of Architecture or are trained architects and builders. The common link and training of the Arch Builders Across Nations is "Cal Earth Institute"...home of the Super Adobe construction technique and training program, from award winning and internationally recognized architect and author Nader Khalili. Cal Earth is where all of our members have gone through training and have now come together, as one, to create ABAN, a truly unique endeavor. A.B.A.N is the result of an extraordinary energy deployed and encompassed from a diversity of people during the June 2004 seminar at Cal Earth Institute. People from every corner of Our World to advance a single and common goal...providing shelters to the less fortunate, those willing to make a difference by developing and employing the concept of self sustaining homesteads and communities.
The majority of our members have found themselves in various cities, deserts, jungles throughout the world, literally spanning the globe. Uniting through the experiences at Cal Earth, many found themselves with no place to share, apply their passion and their skills, after dedicating 4 to 6 months of their lives or more, to help the so called less fortunate of every nation. They have now developed a purpose to regroup and help people from all states approving Cal-Earth Institute Construction Methods - building safe, affordable, sustainable and environmentally sound Earth-based housing.
The spirit of ABAN is to believe in networking... connecting...reaching out and spreading the lessons of self- sustaining community throughout all Nations. ABAN will establish a home base not only in the USA but throughout the world via its Members At Large Group across the continents . ABAN will assist any well intentioned non-profit organizations toward their project of sustainable community.
